 Trip Reports

last updated May 9, 2008

May 9th, 2008- AMAZING day!!- The warm spring weather and sunshine must have made the whales as excited as we were to be enjoying the waters of the Great Pacific Northwest...as within the first half hour of leaving Coupeville we saw  THREE gray whales off of Camano island and it wasn't long until  the spouts of another ONE drew our attention near Baby island.  Then 20-30 white-tipped, Dahl porpoises  put on a spectacular show for us for about half an hour near Eldger Bay, on Camano island.   As we were headed back up to Coupeville on the return trip we saw ANOTHER gray whale by Lowell Point.   Before we had a chance to finish looking at all of the great pictures we'd snapped, there was yet ANOTHER gray whale by Race Lagoon on Whidbey island.  Seals and eagles were also seen in all of their glory throughout the cruise as well.
